IT Planning & Installation for New Dental Practices

Your new practice. Thoughtfully planned. Connected from the start.

DPS works with you, your architect, and your builder to plan and deliver the technology behind your new dental practice, from the first floor plan and construction wiring to installed systems ready for your team to use.

Serving dental practices since 2006.

Your first technology decision happens before the first cable is run.

A well-connected dental practice begins with understanding how the space will be used.

  • Where will your team check patients in?
  • How will monitors be positioned in the operatories?
  • Where will imaging equipment connect?
  • What needs to be available in the IT closet?

These decisions affect wiring, electrical requirements, equipment placement, and the way your team works every day.

DPS takes time to understand those needs before installation begins. We help turn the floor plan into a practical technology plan that your construction team can work from.

Six stages, coordinated with your project team from the first drawing to handover.

  • 01-03Planning and coordination
  • 04-05Wiring and installation
  • 06Testing and handover

Timing follows your construction schedule. Each stage depends on site readiness and on the other trades and vendors involved in the project.

  1. Planning

    Understand your vision

We review the initial floor plan from your architect or builder and discuss your team, planned services, equipment, patient experience, and future needs.

  2. Planning

    Develop the technology layout

We provide input on the placement of computers, monitors, TVs, Wi-Fi access points, cameras, and the IT closet. We also identify technology-related power and connection requirements for coordination with the construction team.

  3. Planning

    Coordinate before construction progresses

We work with you, your architect, builder, and relevant vendors to refine the plan, clarify responsibilities, and align technology requirements with the space.

  4. Construction

    Install and review low-voltage wiring

We run the agreed network, HDMI/video, and speaker wiring, with attention to the locations and specifications needed for each area.

  5. Construction

    Install and configure the systems

As the site becomes ready, our team coordinates installation visits for the agreed network, computers, displays, cameras, sound system, and other selected technology.

  6. Opening

    Test and hand over

We verify the installed technology and agreed workflows, address outstanding items, and review the completed system with your team.

A technology plan your construction team can use.

DPS provides marked-up plans showing agreed technology locations and wiring requirements. We work closely with the client and construction team so important details can be addressed while changes are still practical.

The goal is to coordinate technology with the actual layout, not discover missing connections after the walls are finished.

Front desk and administration

Workstation positions, printers, phones, display needs, and the connections supporting check-in, scheduling, and daily administration.

Clinical areas

Computer and monitor locations, patient-viewing screens, imaging connections, and access needed around the operatory layout.

IT closet

Location, equipment space, cable organization, power requirements, and appropriate environmental considerations.

Electrical coordination

Communicating technology power needs and outlet locations to the architect, builder, and electrician.

DPS plans and coordinates technology-related electrical requirements. Line-voltage electrical work stays with the project’s electrician, and architectural and electrical drawings remain with the project’s architect and engineers.

The right connections, in the right places.

Network, video, and speaker wiring should reflect how your practice will function. DPS plans and installs low-voltage cabling around the front desk, administrative spaces, clinical areas, and other agreed locations.

We pay attention to where equipment will be mounted, how it will connect, and how the installation will be accessed and maintained.

  • Network cabling

Connections for computers, supported dental equipment, Wi-Fi access points, cameras, and other selected network devices.

  • HDMI and video connections

Planned connections for TVs, monitors, and patient-viewing displays, using appropriate solutions for the required distance and equipment.

  • Speaker wiring

Wiring coordinated with speaker locations and the selected sound system.

Where other contractors perform related work, DPS coordinates specifications and reviews the technology requirements with the project team.

A strong network is designed around the space.

Reliable connectivity requires more than placing a router in a closet. The office layout, equipment locations, building materials, and expected use all influence how the network should be designed.

DPS uses enterprise-grade network equipment and plans Wi-Fi access-point placement to support the way your practice operates.

Centralized management gives our team visibility into supported network equipment and helps organize monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting.

  • Planned access-point locations.
  • Wired connections for appropriate devices.
  • Capacity for the selected equipment and anticipated growth.
  • Appropriate separation of guest access and practice systems.
  • Centralized management of supported network components.

Coverage and performance depend on the space, the equipment, and how the network is used. We plan for your layout and review the results with you.

Technology that supports the whole office.

These systems are selected and scoped for each project. They are not automatically included in every build-out.

Security cameras

Camera usefulness depends on placement, viewing angles, lighting, and the areas the practice wants to observe. DPS plans camera locations and connections around those needs. Selected AI-enabled camera systems can provide additional detection and search capabilities depending on the equipment and configuration.

Viewing angle planned around the entrance and front desk. Illustrative.

Sound systems

Speaker placement and wiring are coordinated with the layout and the desired listening experience throughout the selected spaces.

Digital door access

When included in the project, DPS coordinates compatible access-control technology with the relevant door, hardware, and construction vendors.

Door hardware and life-safety requirements remain with the responsible trades. DPS coordinates the technology side with them.

We stay involved as the plans become a practice.

Construction is a sequence of moving parts. DPS coordinates site visits at relevant stages to review technology locations, address changes, and prepare for installation.

As the office becomes ready, our team installs and configures the agreed computers, displays, network equipment, cameras, sound system, and other selected systems.

We also coordinate the IT connections behind dental software and imaging equipment, working with your vendors to verify the relevant workflows.

Dental Software & Imaging Integration

Through construction and installation

  • Review locations as construction progresses.
  • Coordinate changes before installation.
  • Install and configure agreed equipment.
  • Check connectivity and supported integrations.
  • Review remaining items before handover.

Clinical equipment is installed and serviced by its manufacturer or dealer. DPS handles the IT connections it relies on.

2006Serving dental practices since

Build the foundation for the practice you want to run.

For a first-time practice owner, many important technology decisions are unfamiliar. A misplaced connection, an overlooked power requirement, or equipment installed in the wrong location can create avoidable rework and daily frustration.

DPS brings two decades of dental IT experience to those decisions. We understand how the front desk, operatories, imaging systems, and network depend on one another.

Our goal is to help you make informed choices early and deliver an organized technology environment that can be maintained and adapted as your practice grows.

Ready for opening, and supported afterward.

The project does not end with equipment being mounted and cables being connected. We check the agreed systems, review how your team will use them, and discuss the support and protection needed after opening.

DPS can bring ongoing IT support, proactive maintenance, cybersecurity, and backup and disaster recovery together through a fixed-cost monthly plan.

Construction, equipment, installation, and required site visits are scoped and quoted separately from ongoing managed services.

Email services and encryption are optional.
